Royals Come Up Short at Milwaukee
|
Danny Murtaugh helped his team muscle past the Kansas City Royals, 3-2. In the game, the Milwaukee first baseman was 2-2 with 2 singles and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs. The Brewers sit in last place in the National League Right with a record of 19-26.
The Brewers got a big at-bat from right fielder Joe Lis. For the game, Lis was 1-4. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 16th hit of the season gave Milwaukee a 2-1 lead.
"We squandered some opportunities," said Kansas City manager Mike Roltgen.
