Tigers Turn Back Milwaukee, 3-2
Fans who came to Tiger Stadium watched the Detroit Tigers and the Milwaukee Brewers fight to the finish.

Jim Kaat pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Milwaukee Brewers, despite Kaat's fine outing, dropped a 3-2 decision to the Detroit Tigers at Tiger Stadium. Craig Kimbrel closed the door for Detroit, picking up his 2nd save of the year.

The Tigers got a big at-bat from catcher Jody Davis. For the game, Davis was 1 for 4 with a home run. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 6th home run of the season gave Detroit a 3-2 lead.

"Nice win," said Davis. "Not sure what else you want me to say."

The 'W' lifts Detroit's record to 18-23.
