Lackey Dazzles in St. Louis Win
|
The St. Louis Cardinals picked up a win at Busch Stadium, knocking off the Miami Marlins, 5-0. Starting pitcher John Lackey, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. After today's action, St. Louis sits at 20-20, while Miami falls to 15-26.
Lackey scattered 4 hits over 8.2 innings for the Cardinals. With the win, Lackey goes to 3-3 on the year with 42 strikeouts.
"We played hard and won," said Lackey. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
