Orioles Lose, 5-0, at Yankee Stadium I
|
The Bronx Yankees topped the Baltimore Orioles, 5-0, in American League action at Yankee Stadium I. The player of the game was Bronx pitcher and Glens Falls, New York native David Palmer. Mitch Williams earned the save, his 1st, for the Yankees. The Yankees bumped their record to 20-19 with this latest triumph.
Early in the game, shortstop Whitey Wietelmann had a 2-run double for Bronx. It was his 4th double of the season and put the Yankees on top, 2-0.
"The beers will taste better tonight after this win," said the ever-candid Wietelmann.
