Brewers Get Road Win, 9-5
|
Charlie Blackmon did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Detroit Tigers from losing, 9-5, to the Milwaukee Brewers at Tiger Stadium. Blackmon was 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Jason Ryan, credited with the win, is now 1-4. He allowed 3 runs on 5 hits in 5.1 innings. Milwaukee is last in the National League Right with a record of 16-23.
It could have been a different outcome for Milwaukee, had it not been for Hersh Martin, the 32-year old left fielder . Martin contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the second inning to put Milwaukee up, 3-1.
"It was our day today," Martin told the Milwaukee Gazette. "But we've got to keep our nose to the grindstone."
