Orioles Lose to Brewers, 9-5
|
The Milwaukee Brewers downed the Baltimore Orioles, 9-5, at Camden Yards. The Brewers were led by Ron E Davis, who captured player of the game honors. He went 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Barry Moore got the win, improving to 3-1. He pitched 5.2 innings, giving up 6 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 2 and walking 1. Chuck Seelbach earned the save, his 1st.
It could have been a different outcome for Milwaukee, had it not been for Hersh Martin, the 32-year old left fielder . Martin contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the second inning to put Milwaukee up, 3-1.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Davis told a Milwaukee Gazette reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
The Brewers sit in last place in the National League Right with a record of 15-23.
