The Miami Marlins scored a 7-6 win versus the Montreal Expos at Turner Field. Miami designated hitter Ronald Acuna nabbed top player honors in the tight contest. The win was credited to Brad Bergesen in relief. His record improves to 5-3. Cy Buker took the loss. Warren Brusstar earned the save for Miami, his 3rd.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the seventh, with the game tied, Mark DeRosa was at the plate when Miami scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Marlins to go in front, 7-6.
"Nice to put this one in the win column," said DeRosa.
The Marlins raised their record to 13-24.
