Pivotal Game 5 Goes to Host Rockies, 6-3
The Colorado Rockies moved to within one game of the Round 4 today, downing the visiting New York Mets at Astrodome by a score of 6-3. Rockies right-hander Chris R Young was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 9 innings of 6-hit ball. The win gives the Rockies a 3-2 advantage in the best-of-7 World Series.

In the bottom of the second, Colorado left fielder Jim Edmonds had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Edmonds stroked a 2-run single to right. It made the score 3-0, Colorado. For the game, he went 2-4 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Edmonds. "And not try to do too much."

The next game is set to be played Monday, November 3rd, 1969 at Shea Stadium. Slated to start are Mike Boddicker for the Colorado Rockies and Jimmie Keenan for the the New York Mets.
