Boston Wins at Home to Narrow Series Deficit to 2-1
The Boston Red Sox nearly wasted a strong game from starter Al Shealy, but were saved by some timely hitting in a 9th inning walk-off win over the New York Mets today.

Shealy was named player of the game in the 4-3 win at Fenway Park, after he threw 5 innings allowing 1 run. The win allowed Boston to cut the New York lead in the best-of-7 series to 1-2.

Sal Fasano was the walk-off hero for Boston. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Red Sox catcher hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"It's a mindset," said Shealy. "Just trying to do your job, trying to be consistent."

Game 4 is scheduled for tomorrow. Slated to start are Dick Donovan for New York and Tyler Anderson for Boston.
