Raucous Wrigley Field Crowd Propels Cubs to 3-0 Victory; Series Tied at 3
The Chicago Cubs and the Pittsburgh Pirates will take the Divisional Series to a decisive 7th game. Facing a must-win situation today, the Cubs shut out the Pirates 3-0 at Wrigley Field to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Chicago right-hander Kyle Gibson was named player of the game in the win after a strong outing in which he threw 7 innings of shutout ball.

Gibson, who was born in Greenfield, Wisconsin, threw 114 pitches over 7 innings, while allowing no earned runs.

"It was a good effort all around," said Gibson.

Game 7 is scheduled for tomorrow at Wrigley Field. Slated to start are Hal Brown for the Pittsburgh Pirates and Chris Haney for the the Chicago Cubs.
