The South Side White Sox got a great start from 36-year-old right-hander Freddy Garcia, who earned player of the game honors today as South Side won the contest 6-3 at Astrodome. Garcia threw 9 innings allowing 3 runs in the win, which knotted the best-of-7 series at 1-1.

South Side relied on the hitting of Trea Turner to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a solo home run in the top of the third inning to put the White Sox on top, 1-0. For the game, Turner had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"For the most part, I made good pitches when I needed to," said Garcia.

The next game is set to be played Friday at Comisky Park in Chicago. The scheduled starters for the game are Chris R Young for the Colorado Rockies and Mace Brown for the the South Side White Sox.
