Host Orioles Drop Pivotal Game 5, Now Trail Series 3-2
Game 5 was big. So was Jimmie Keenan.

The New York starter rose to the occasion at Camden Yards today, earning player of the game honors after leading the Mets to a crucial 6-0 victory over the Baltimore Orioles. Keenan threw 7 innings of shutout ball as the Mets won on the road to seize a 3-2 lead in the best-of-7 Divisional Series.

Keenan, who leaned on his curveball, allowed no runs on just 3 hits over 7 innings for the Mets. For the most part, Baltimore hitters were simply overmatched.

Keenan said afterward that his team has grown over the course of the season, adding: "It feels good when a plan comes together."

The next game is set to be played Wednesday. The scheduled starters for the game are Mat Latos for Baltimore and Jay Tibbs for New York.
