Mets Win to Extend Series Lead to 2-0
The New York Mets got a strong performance from pitcher Jay Tibbs, who stymied the visiting Baltimore Orioles en route to a 10-1 win in Game 2 of the Divisional Series today. The Orioles could never get a bead on the right-handed Tibbs, who threw 7 innings of 5-hit ball to earn player of the game honors. The Mets now hold a 2-0 in the best-of-7 series.

In the bottom of the fifth, New York shortstop Ed Romero had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and no one out, Romero stroked a bases-clearing double to left-center. It made the score 4-1, New York. For the game, he went 1-4 with a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once.

"I had pretty good command out there," said Tibbs.

Game 3 is scheduled for Saturday. Slated to start are Dick Donovan for the New York Mets and Noah Syndergaard for the the Baltimore Orioles.
