Dodgers Bang Out 6-3 Win Versus Miami
|
The Brooklyn Dodgers defeated the Miami Marlins, 6-3, in American League action at Ebbets Field, with Brooklyn pitcher John D'Acquisto named player of the game. D'Acquisto went 5 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 3, and struck out 7. His record improves to 15-12. Dick Fowler was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 1 of 1 save opportunities.
Daniel Ortmeier had a big run-scoring single for the Dodgers in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Brooklyn leading 3-2 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a curveball from Ralph Birkofer and stroked the single to center. It was his 136th hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Dodgers ahead, 4-2.
"We did a lot of things right," said Ortmeier.
The Dodgers raised their record to 70-91.
