Red Sox Win Streak Now at 7
Boston got a first-rate effort from pitcher Clayton Richard, who frustrated Bronx hitters en route to a 2-0 Red Sox triumph at Fenway Park. Ron Piche earned the save for Boston, his 1st of the year. With their winning streak at 7, the Red Sox have raced to a strong start this season.

The Red Sox got a big at-bat from first baseman Dale Long. For the game, Long was 1 for 2 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the third, with a runner on 3rd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Boston a 2-0 lead.

"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Boston manager Daniel Hornbaker.
