Miami pitcher Dick Pole did his part in helping his team beat the Pittsburgh Pirates, 5-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. With the loss, Pittsburgh is 13-7.
It could have been a different outcome for Miami, had it not been for Luis Ordaz, the 24-year old shortstop . Ordaz contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the second inning to put Miami up, 1-0.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Pole.
