Cardinals Win at Kansas City, 8-2
|
The Kansas City Royals and St. Louis Cardinals brought some excitement to Kauffman Stadium.
The St. Louis Cardinals and starting pitcher Ed Correa stifled the Kansas City offense en route to a comfortable 8-2 win at Kauffman Stadium. The Royals fall to 7-11 and continue their uneven start to the 1969 season.
It could have been a different outcome for St. Louis, had it not been for Wade Boggs, the three-time All-Star . Boggs contributed a bases-clearing double in the top of the sixth inning to put St. Louis up, 6-2.
"We'll savor this win," Correa told the St. Louis Gazette, "then get ready for the next game."
