Branson Helps Yankees Run Win Streak to 3
A 4-RBI performance from Jeff Branson, who is tied for 9th in the AL in stolen bases with 1, helped the Bronx Yankees beat the Milwaukee Brewers, 4-2. Kerry Wood was the winner. Over 7.1 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 5 hits, with 2 walks and 8 strikeouts. The Brewers fall to 6-10 and continue their uneven start to the 1969 season.

Branson had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 1-2 changeup from Ray Searage, he banged a 3-run home run to right-center, giving the Yankees a 4-2 lead. It was the 4th home run of the year for Branson.

"Enjoyed this one," Branson told the Bronx Daily News. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
