Milwaukee rode a good effort from starter Kirk McCaskill to beat the Montreal Expos at La Stade Olympique. The final score was 6-1. McCaskill, the winner, moves to 3-3. He threw 5.2 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 1 walk. The last-place Brewers improved to 60-94.

Milwaukee used a timely hit from Lou Marson to get the win. The catcher delivered a run-scoring triple in the top of the fifth inning to put the Brewers on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Milwaukee manager Michael Ejercito.
