Marlins Roll to 8-2 Win Over Red Sox
|
Fenway Park was the site for American League action featuring the Boston Red Sox and Miami Marlins.
Miami beat Boston on the strength of starter Jack Fisher's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a 8-2 win. Fisher picked up the win for Miami, going 5.1 innings. He gave up no runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 8-5. Brad Bergesen notched his 5th save in 9 chances.
Miami used the clutch hitting of Sean Casey to capture the win. The first baseman drilled a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to give the Marlins the lead, 3-0. For the game, Casey had 2 singles and 1 double in 5 at-bats.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Fisher said after the game.
With the win over Boston, the Marlins improved to 67-81.
