Victory Pushes Orioles Record to 73-72
|
The Baltimore Orioles picked up a win at Camden Yards, knocking off the Brooklyn Dodgers, 5-2. On the mound for Baltimore was right-hander Jerome Williams, who played a pivotal role in the win. Williams went 8.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 2, and struck out 6. His record improves to 9-10. Chris Sale notched his 16th save in 24 chances.
Tom Herr was 1 for 4 with a triple for Baltimore. The 24-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Johnny Abrego. It was his 30th RBI of the season.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Baltimore skipper Andre Ivarsson.
Baltimore has now won 3 in a row.
