Brown Finds Groove in 6-1 Triumph
|
South Side pitcher Mace Brown did his part in helping his team beat the Montreal Expos, 6-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Montreal has now lost 8 consecutive games.
Brown, who dominated for South Side, earned the victory to move to 13-11. He was in control the whole game, scattering 7 hits over 9 innings, while striking out 8. Montreal batters could never bunch up enough hits to produce a rally.
"I felt we were ready to go," said South Side manager Ricky Sanford. "Our pregame was pretty good."
