Bronx Yankees starter Kerry Wood pitched a strong game against the Montreal Expos at La Stade Olympique, leading the Yankees to a 6-5 win. The win was credited to Don Mossi in relief. His record improves to 5-5. Cy Buker took the loss. Bronx is now riding a 3-game win streak.
Greg O'Halloran had a nice at-bat for the Yankees with one out in the top of the ninth. With runners on 1st and 2nd, the catcher reached on an error by the 2B, which would prove important in the Bronx win.
"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Wood.
