Pitcher Jimmie Keenan was sensational for the New York Mets in his team's 2-0 triumph over the Chicago Cubs. Keenan received player of the game honors, while picking up the win. Chad Gaudin got the save, his 7th in 10 chances. The Mets bumped their record to 85-52 with this latest triumph.

Keenan imposed his will on the Cubs, scattering 3 hits over 7 innings while striking out 9. The left-hander upped his season record to 4-2.

"If I do my job, we've usually got a good chance to win the game," said Keenan.
