Extra-Inning Win by Orioles over White Sox
|
South Side got a terrific performance from pitcher John Mitchell, but it wasn't enough to beat the Baltimore Orioles. Baltimore won the Comisky Park contest, 6-3. Mitchell was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 7 innings allowing 2 runs. Bob Duliba got the save, his 1st in 1 chances. Today's win puts Baltimore at 67-67, while South Side falls to 67-68.
Baltimore used the timely hitting of Glenn Davis to capture the win. The right fielder stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the 16th inning to put the Orioles on top, 6-3. It was his only hit in 8 at-bats, but he made it count.
"Our team showed some gumption," said Davis. "I like it."
