Late Rally by Cubs Secures Win
|
Chicago rode a decent outing from starter Kyle Gibson to victory over the New York Mets at Wrigley Field. The final score was 4-3. New York has now lost 7 straight.
The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Chicago trailing 3-2, Jim Gosger hit a curveball from Scott Stewart to right-center for a 2-run single. Just like that, the Cubs had a walk-off win.
"Enjoyed this one," Gosger told the Chicago Gazette. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
