Starter Chris R Young shut out the New York Mets despite having what he later called "sub-par" stuff, and the Colorado Rockies cruised to victory, 2-0. Young allowed only 5 hits and rang up 8 strikeouts but insisted later that he did not deserve primary credit for the win.
"It didn't feel quite right today, but I got a lot of help to get through," he said. "I trusted my catcher and the guys behind me bailed me out more than once when I screwed up."
This year Young has a 13-8 record with a 3.25 ERA in 26 starts.
