Expos Win 5-4 Walk-Off
|
The Baltimore Orioles got a sterling performance from shortstop Danny Tartabull, but the Expos still prevailed, 5-4. Tartabull was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He went 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Montreal reliever Fautino De Los Santos picked up the win, bumping his record to 6-2. Chris Sale was collared with the loss. Montreal has now won 3 in a row.
Andy Spognardi had a nice at-bat for the Expos with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With a runner on 1st, the second baseman drew a walk, which would prove important in the Montreal win.
"Put a star next to this win," Spognardi said.
