Pirates Lose to Royals, 3-0
|
The Kansas City Royals got a good effort from starter Ryan Vogelsong in defeating the Pittsburgh Pirates at PNC Park. The final score was 3-0. The Royals are off to a tough start, getting just their 5th win in 14 games.
Kansas City used the timely hitting of Ray Sanders to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the first inning to put the Royals on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I made some pitches when I had to," said Vogelsong.
