SL1's Best Player Selected, It's Cruise

Walton Cruise, the talented Tampa left fielder, certainly made his name known among Sub League 1 hurlers this season. He hammered them for 173 hits, 29 doubles, 5 triples, 33 home runs, 128 RBIs and scored 119 times. That kind of output made him the choice for Sub League 1 Most Valuable Player Award for 2001.
He received 20 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Harold Ramirez of the Tampa Deputies finished second in voting, while Bud Zipfel of the Tampa Deputies finished third.
