Sub League 2 Best Pitcher Named Thursday, October 11th , 2001 The Chesterfield Royals have a rising superstar or maybe even a budding Hall-of-Famer in the making. It's Kevin Millwood, this year's Sub League 2 Pitcher of the Year Award selection. This blossoming hurler wowed fans, peers and sportswriters with a fabulous performance. Millwood compiled a 22-2 record in 30 starts, tallied 249 strikeouts in 227.1 innings and recorded a 1.82 ERA. Other clubs managed only a .191 batting average against him. He received 20 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Max Lanier of the Providence Barons finished second in voting, while Jon Garland of the Chesterfield Royals finished third.
