Hudson Valley Hurler Wins SL1 Pitcher of the Year Award

The Sub League 1 has heralded Osvaldo Fernandez of the Hudson Valley Renegades as the #1 man on the mound for the 2001 campaign.

This year's Pitcher of the Year Award winner stood out by running up an impressive 21-6 record, holding opposing hitters to a .256 batting average and posting a 3.26 ERA. The 32-year-old hurler tossed 193 innings, gave up 188 hits, fanned 119 and issued 55 walks.

He received 18 first place votes out of a possible 20. Buck Marrow of the Hudson Valley Renegades finished second in voting with 2 first place votes, while Bob Miller of the Kattegat Val'kyr finished third.
