Case Goes 5-for-5
Thursday, September 13th , 2001
George Case really sizzled at the plate in his team's 14-1 win over the Garland Americans. The Tampa center fielder blistered Garland for 5 hits in 5 at-bats.

"Case was too tough to get out today," the Americans skipper said in the postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too."

George Case hit a solo-shot off Fred Breining in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 6th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Jim Unknown in the 7th and walked in the 8th.

So far this season, Case has recorded a .376 batting average with 59 hits, 12 home runs, 53 RBIs, 51 runs scored and a .466 OBP.
