3-HR Day for Case
Thursday, September 13th , 2001
Tampa Deputies center fielder George Case had a magnificent game against the Garland Americans, rocketing three balls out of Americans Park to help the Deputies win, 14-1.
"I got some good pitches to hit and I creamed them," he said after the game. "The first was a big, fat fastball and the last two were hanging curves. All three were mistakes."
For the game, Case went 5-for-5 with 7 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
"There's a fine line between hitting home runs and line drives," Tampa manager said later. "Seems like George found his home run stroke today."
George Case hit a solo-shot off Fred Breining in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 6th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Jim Unknown in the 7th and walked in the 8th.
Case currently has a .376 batting average with 59 hits, 12 homers, 53 RBIs, 51 runs scored and a .466 OBP.
