5-for-6 Day for Healy
Saturday, September 8th , 2001
The Raleigh Sox stopped the Huntington Beach Phoenix by a score of 16-5 at Phoenix Field, with the lion's share of the credit going to first baseman Ryon Healy. The 28-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits.

"Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Healy said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard."

Healy did just that in his 6 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Phoenix.

"Not much that I can say," offered Huntington Beach manager . "He just hammered the heck out of us."

Ryon Healy grounded out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 8th and singled in the 9th.

Looking at his stats this year, Healy has compiled a .270 batting average, while hitting 19 home runs and driving in 80 runs. He has played in 136 games and scored 58 runs.
