Party's Over: Buhner Retires in Oxnard Sunday, August 26th , 2001 A spokesperson for the Oxnard Silverbacks today confirmed that Jay Buhner will not be back next year. The Silverbacks right fielder has decided to retire. Buhner has played in 1752 games and posted a lifetime .247 average. He has 1445 hits, 212 doubles, 27 triples and 310 homers. In addition he has driven in 983 runs and scored 977 times. |
