Playoffs? No Chance for Huntington Beach Sunday, August 19th , 2001 Not even the most diehard Huntington Beach Phoenix fan thought the team had much chance at the playoffs this year. But now even the faintest hopes have been put to rest, as the Phoenix were mathematically eliminated from the postseason hunt today. The Phoenix have missed the playoffs 21 times in their 22 years as a MLB Triple A franchise. This playoff miss is the club's 21st in a row, with their last postseason appearance coming in 1980. |
