Providence Barons Mathematically Out of Playoffs Friday, August 17th , 2001 The 2001 season has hardly been a memorable one for the Providence Barons and now fans must deal with the fact that the club has been officially eliminated from playoff contention. The Barons have missed the playoffs 21 times in their 22 years as a MLB Triple A franchise. This playoff miss is the club's 11th in a row, with their last postseason appearance coming in 1990. |
