Brown Week's Top Player Monday, July 23rd , 2001 Glendale fans have something to crow about today as Glendale left fielder Jake Brown nabbed the Sub League 1 Player of the Week Award for his performance over the last seven days. "I know there are times when it's hard to lay off pitches. Everyone goes through stretches when he's too eager to put the ball in play. You know, though, I feel like this past week I was able to get in the right frame of mind and just let things come naturally," said Brown. He posted a .520 average (13-for-25) this past week with 5 home runs, 13 RBIs, and 8 runs scored. This year, Brown is hitting .263 with 14 home runs and 61 RBIs to his credit. He has gotten on base at a .368 clip and scored 53 runs. |
