Providence Beats Tulsa as Lanier Throws 5-0 Shutout

In a remarkable performance, Providence Barons starter Max Lanier beat the Tulsa Swordfish, 5-0, in an impressive 3-hit shutout.
"My arm felt good, mechanics were good and my stuff was working," he said later. "It doesn't get any better than this."
The Barons hurler finished with 11 strikeouts and 1 walk. He showed pinpoint control and a sharp fastball.
"It was a rough one for my guys," Tulsa manager said, following the game. "We weren't at our best and their guy was."
This year, Lanier has fanned 151 in 140.1 innings and collected a 10-5 record with a 2.05 ERA.
