3-HR Day for Morales
Friday, October 26th , 2001
The Seattle Mariners won't soon forget the display of raw power by Kendrys Morales of the Colorado Rockies. He victimized the Mariners by pounding three pitches out of Rogers Centre to spark his club to a win, 6-1.
"I got three pitches down the pipe and popped them," Morales told reporters. "Today I was in a groove. Tomorrow, I could just pop up the same pitches and go 0-for-3."
In addition to the homers, he collected 4 RBIs and scored 3 runs.
Kendrys Morales struck out in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Sam Jones in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Sam Jones in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Andy Benes in the 8th.
Morales is hitting .323 so far this season with 158 RBIs and 122 runs scored. He has 207 hits including 46 home runs, 58 walks and .378 OBP.
