Minnesota Takes Divisional Series in Deciding Game
Saturday, October 13th , 2001
The thrill of victory and the agony of defeat were on full display tonight at Comiskey Park as the Divisional Series stretched to the final game.

It was the Minnesota Twins feeling the thrill of victory, with a 9-3 win over the Chicago (A) White Sox, who were feeling the devastation of coming up short in their quest to make the League Championship Series.

"There's no way around it -- this sucks," said Chicago (A) manager Steven Ejercito. "Congratulations to Minnesota, but I won't sugarcoat it, no one is happy about anything that transpired here tonight."

Instrumental in the 4-3 series win was second baseman Dylan Moore, who was named MVP. He hit .355 with a .412 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 5 RBI and scored 4 runs.

"We've got the most important stat of all and that's this final win -- that's the one that matters," he said.

The Minnesota Twins will play against the Seattle Mariners in the next round. Seattle won their series against the Detroit Tigers 4 games to 2. The League Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Divisional Series finishes.
