Colorado Advances to League Championship Series
Tuesday, October 9th , 2001
The Colorado Rockies triumphed 11-3 over the Montreal Expos at Coors Field in the Divisional Series to capture it 4-1.

The victory advanced the Rockies to the League Championship Series.

For his superb play in the series, Rockies right fielder Matt Kemp garnered the series MVP trophy, hitting .500, scoring 5 runs and batting in 3.

"Only thing better than getting MVP for winning in the playoffs would be winning MVP for winning in the World Series," Kemp said later. "I'll get to work on that."

The Colorado Rockies don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Arizona Diamondbacks - New York (N) Mets series. New York (N) leads the series 3 games to 1. The League Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Divisional Series finishes.
