Cleveland Shuts Out St. Louis, 2-0 Thursday, September 20th , 2001 Cleveland Guardians starter Oral Hildebrand really did a number on the St. Louis Cardinals, shutting them out, 2-0, on 1 hit in a complete game victory. He issued no walks and had 4 strikeouts. "We didn't have good at-bats," said St. Louis manager David Mandel. "I don't make excuses, but when we were playing the game, our energy didn't show. That comes from either extremely good pitching or extremely lousy hitting and seeing as our team has a bunch of good hitters, I have to tip my cap to Hildebrand."
