Twins Snatch Late-Game, 5-4 Win
|
The Minnesota Twins licked the Seattle Mariners, 5-4. Pat McNulty deserved a big chunk of the credit. The left fielder went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 2 for the Twins. Rusty Meacham earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 2 runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. His record is now 1-1. Jesse Crain recorded the save. In save chances, he's now 5 for 7.
Taylor Trammell came through with a big-time hit for Minnesota. The right fielder smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 5-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"We were the better team," crowed Trammell.
Minnesota goes to 52-48, Seattle to 65-35.
