Brewers Win Thriller, 6-4
|
The Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Boston Red Sox, 6-4, at Miller County Field. Milwaukee catcher Shanty Hogan had a superb performance. He hit 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. Steve Kline picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Luis Avilan suffered the loss. The Brewers improved their record to 37-55 by beating Boston.
The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Milwaukee trailing 4-2, Hogan jumped on a curveball from 30-year old left-handed pitcher Luis Avilan and hit a grand slam home run to left. With one swing, the Brewers had a walk-off win.
"We fed off the energy of the crowd at the end," Hogan said.
