The home crowd had a good time watching the Chicago (N) Cubs and New York (N) Mets get after it.

The New York (N) Mets picked up a win at Shea Stadium, knocking off the Chicago (N) Cubs, 6-2. Starting pitcher Don Drysdale played a key role in the triumph. New York (N) now has a record of 66-24 with the win.

Ha-seong Kim, who is tied for 10th in the NL in stolen bases with 16, took Chicago (N) hurler Chris Holt deep in the bottom of the fifth. His 2-run home run put the Mets on top, 2-1. In all, Kim had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.

"I like our moxie," said Mets manager Jamie Dagostini.
