Giants Send Chicago (N) Home with 5-3 Loss
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the San Francisco Giants and Chicago (N) Cubs.
Dave McCarty left his imprint on the 5-3 San Francisco win against the Chicago (N) Cubs. McCarty, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 1997 draft, was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 3. Garrett Olson earned his 20th save in 23 chances.
Johnny Rizzo drove in 2 runs for San Francisco. The 32-year old right fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the seventh. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Tim Dillard. It was his 45th RBI of the season.
"Glad to go home with a win," said Rizzo.
San Francisco is now 38-51, while Chicago (N) is 43-49.
