A 4-RBI performance from the 27-year old left fielder Bobby Higginson helped the Detroit Tigers beat the Chicago (A) White Sox, 7-6. Detroit reliever Sean Burnett picked up the win, while Bill Scherrer took the loss for Chicago (A). Victor Alcantara got the save, his 2nd in 2 chances.

Detroit won the game in part because of Travis Snider. The left fielder ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Tigers ahead, 7-5. For the game, Snider had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.

"We battled our tails off to get this win," said Detroit manager Don Dinsmore.

With the win over Chicago (A), the Tigers improved to 47-41.
