Brewers Fall Short, 2-1, at Baltimore
|
Baltimore pitcher Sonny Gray did his part in helping his team defeat the Milwaukee Brewers, 2-1. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. Gray picked up the win for Baltimore, going 6.2 innings. He gave up 1 run on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 5-12. Jonny Venters locked down his 14th save.
The Orioles got a big at-bat from left fielder Johnny Grubb. For the game, Grubb was 1-3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 17th home run of the season gave Baltimore a 2-1 lead.
"Main thing is I want the team to win," Gray told a reporter after the game. "Just have to go out there, take care of my job, and give my team a chance to win."
Baltimore is now 44-44, Milwaukee 35-54.
